1. What is the main difference between an NGO, Trust, and Society?
A Trust is governed by the Indian Trusts Act, a Society is governed by the Societies Registration Act, and a Section 8 Company is registered under the Companies Act for charitable purposes.
2. How many members are required to register a Trust or NGO?
For a Trust, at least two trustees are required. For a Society, a minimum of seven members is needed.

PAN and Aadhaar of members, address proof, Trust Deed or Memorandum of Association, and registered office proof.
4. How long does it take to register an NGO or Trust?
Generally, it takes 7–15 working days, depending on the type of entity and local authority’s processing time.
